What does the role involve?
Being outside and working with children requires a whole range of skills, such as knowing how to gain children's attention quickly and efficiently, being able to teach in a fun and interesting way, and learning how to communicate so that children can understand your instructions. Along with your desire to learn and a positive attitude, you will need to be energetic, committed and passionate. A current first aid certificate and access to your own transport would be an advantage.

Job Description
Are you passionate about sports and active recreation? Join Kelly Sports to deliver before-school, after-school, in-school, pre school and holiday program coaching sessions and help us set kids up for a happy and healthy future. You’ll spend more time outdoors, teach kids the fundamentals of a variety of sports, and make a real difference in their lives.

Hours:

Kelly Sports goal is to enhance each child's physical education and well-being by providing expert umpiring and coaching over a wide range of sports. Our aim is to give children of all abilities a Lifelong Love of Sport.
Kelly Sports is currently looking for enthusiastic, active and committed Netball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball and Hockey umpires/referees to join our extensive team.
The roles involve casual hours rewarded with good remuneration. Umpiring matches will be for school aged children ranging from ages 6-16. Hours will be after school or on Saturday mornings, with some opportunity to umpire in-curriculum.
Availability required for Umpiring will predominantly be on weekdays from 1pm-3pm (Victoria) and from 4pm onwards (SA) with some Saturday mornings from 8am-11am.
The role will commence from May 2024.
To become part of our Kelly Sports umpires/referees team applicants must
- Be outgoing, friendly and sports minded people
- Possess Umpire Accreditation or have considerable experience playing your preferred sport
- Capable of umpiring/refereeing OR
- Be willing to learn umpiring (training will be provided)
- Have knowledge of current by-laws for the relevant sporting competition
- Employee Working with Children Check (mandatory)
- Child Safe Environments Training – Responding to Harm, Neglect & Abuse -RHAN (mandatory if over 18 years of age) OR Mandatory Reporting Certificate (VIC) (https://www.vic.gov.au/protecting-children-mandatory-reporting-and-other-obligations)
- First Aid (mandatory)
- Umpiring experience or accreditations (desirable) OR be willing to learn
- Some experience working with primary and or secondary aged children (desirable)
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children
- Be punctual and reliable

We are currently looking for Dance coaches. Applicants must be enthusiastic, ability to facilitate a variety of genres.
Coach in local primary schools across Melbourne. Must be outgoing, friendly and passionate about working with kids and capable of coaching groups with an emphasis on group control and skill development.

All Kelly Sports coaches participate in a thorough induction process. We are currently looking to fill casual and part time positions. Kelly Sports adopts a salary scale based upon a coaches playing and coaching experience, coaching accreditation, tertiary qualifications and loyalty. Coaches rates are between $25 and $50 per hour

Kelly Sports is currently looking for enthusiastic, active and committed sports coaches and dance coaches for casual positions starting immediately.
Applicants must be outgoing, friendly and sports minded people who are passionate about working with children and capable of coaching groups with an emphasis on behaviour management and skill development. Availability required for a casual coaching position with Kelly Sports is from 3.00pm most weekdays and some Saturday morning work may also be required. Flexible working hours average 5 – 10 hrs per week for coaching based on your availability. Occasional opportunities to coach in-curriculum may also be available.
